Hi Guys, I am not going to make it to spiceworld this year, but I have paid. The spiceworld people told me if I could sell it they can transfer it to you. Since I was there last year I got it for $99. I would love someone else to use it. Let me know if anyone is interested.

So it appears that a marketer from ManageEngine who attended Spiceworld 2018 traveled back in time to get a head start on the other vendor's post-con email floods
Unfortunately, we cannot attend Spiceworld this year. Two $99 tickets were purchased for myself and a colleague right after we got back from last year's event. Would anyone like to purchase them?
It looks like SW18 is book-ended by ACLMF this year. I was hoping there might be some 'filler' music throughout the week of SpiceWorld. I realize there are plenty of conference activities to keep us occupied, but I'm looking forward to my first, and possibly only, live rock show in the "Live Music Capital of the World".
If you're a fan of aging 90's rocksters, I'll see you at Barracuda Tuesday night for this $13 show: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/local-h-pack-up-the-cats-tour-barracuda-tickets-45990430616?aff=ebdssbd...
If you know of any other cool live shows around the downtown area the week of SW18, please feel free to post them below. Thanks, and see ya at the rock show!
We see the headlines on a seemingly daily basis. Another large company has fallen victim to a data breach. Equifax, eBay, Home Depot, Uber, Target, the list goes on. And those are just big, well-publicized breaches. For every major corporation that's hacked and makes news, countless other small and midsized businesses are victimized by malware, ransomware, phishing attacks and more. Michael Price, Webroot Sales Engineer and phishing guru, shares a first-hand account of one such phished company and the lessons we can learn from it.

I have an unfortunate circumstance where I cannot attend SpiceWorld 2018. ** Hysterical cry ** ;-) I really am super upset about it. My company did not approve sending me this year so I was going to go on my own dime but some personal issues have made it a bit hard to work around SpiceWorld this year. I'm selling my ticket for $99 if anyone is interested. If anyone is interested I do use Venmo so it would be an easy transaction.
Found this gem on my computer the other day - must’ve been the youngest SpiceHead at the event! Show and tell, anyone? :’)
I bought a ticket last year just in case I would be able to possibly go this year, but it is not going to happen as I am having to go out of state the weekend right before. Did not learn this until yesterday.
So with that being said, I also have a $99 ticket that I am looking to part with for $90 since that is about what I would have gotten back if I would have gotten it refunded if I would have known about this sooner.
Just PM me if you are interested in the ticket and we can do the payment through Paypal and then I can do the transfer and so forth with the necessary Spiceworks people.
Thank you and I hope that whoever gets this tickets gets a ton of swag!

The SpiceWorld Mobile App is now live and ready to be downloaded!
The mobile app is super handy and a must have if you're coming to SpiceWorld. It has the full agenda with speaker details, a map of the exhibit hall so you can quickly find the sponsors, and breakout sessions & overall conference surveys so you can give us your feedback.
Downloading the mobile app:
1. To find the app, go to your app store and search "SpiceWorld".
2. Once the app has downloaded and you've got it opened, you'll see SpiceWorld Austin 2018. Just hit download to load the content for this year's event.
3. Now you've got the app!
4. It'll prompt you to allow notifications and we sure hope you do. We'll communicate any agenda changes, reminders about what’s happening when and where, and many other need-to-know details about the event through the...
At the SpiceWorld party last year, two people showed up as Marty McFly and Spock. I'm not sure if they were hired by SpiceWorks as entertainers for the party, or if they were attendees who decided to cosplay. Is this something that people are going to be doing this year?
I remember last year, my first Spiceworld, I had seen some spiceheads whose spouses had come with them and attended the big event Weds night. I've been searching but not seeing any details. Anyone know how this works and how I obtain such a ticket for her?

So I was looking at the agenda. And "got confused" am I the only one who didn't quite catch this time thing the first time through?

EDIT: Typo in the title. No coffee yet and I just got back to the office after leaving last night 7 hours ago.
I am saying that my luggage will be about 10 pounds heavier this year as I will be carrying these along with me.
And should anyone be interested in meeting up one evening at a pub, grab a pint, and indulge in some jolly cooperation (or wait for this all to blow over, in the case of a zombie invasion), then I'm up for it.

Or what about the meaning of life, the universe and everything? On the SpiceBuddies site, we want to include a Frequently Asked Questions (aka a FAQ) and would like some questions people have about SpiceWorld, about the SpiceBuddies and things that happen around this magical time of the year!
Questions can be around what to bring or not to bring, ways on getting around, how to get a hug from SpiceRex, whatever! Just another way for us SpiceBuddies to help those attending for the first time!
The questions must flow!
I am having a problem having the Spiceworld App run on my Google Pixel 2 XL. Every time it runs it shuts down immediately. I have sen in the feedback for it to see if it could be fixed. I added that app on my Asus Z10 Tablet and it seems to work fine. Just wondering if anyone else was having a problem or had a solution??
When Spiceworld was a much smaller and more "unconventional" conference with a limited budget they had to come up with alternative ideas for entertainment. Previous years had shown that Spiceheads are "outgoing?" And so a legend was born. The first few years, conference goers got to partake in "Live Band Karaoke!" Its was epic, setting the tone of Spiceworld as a conference of legend!
Today with thousands in attendance, karaoke is not really an option . But Spice heads are not one to let a tradition die so easily.
In 2018 we are bringing back karaoke the way Spiceheads always do. With an "Unofficial Spiceheads Karaoke Night!"

Long story short - but I'm looking for a SpiceWorld ticket for my Brother-in-law. Things fell through and he is not able to afford it - but he'll be in Austin that week with his wife (my sister). Anyone out there have a ticket they want to give away and/or sell?
It's official! We're hosting this on the Sunday, Oct. 7 at 6 pm at Easy Tiger. We're renting out the entire patio and there will be plenty to eat and drink. Plus there will be prizes for the winners! Time to start practicing!

SpcieWorld 2018 is just around the corner and we couldn’t be happier. In fact, be sure to check out our other post on what we’re planning to do this year and our new SpiceWorld 2018 tab explaining everything you need to know.
We take SpiceWorld pretty seriously around here at Webroot HQ. We always have. Quite simply, this show is important to us just as it is to all of you. Which is why back in May we started planning for SpiceWorld and thinking about what swag we wanted to bring to Austin with us. We could have brought the standard fair but when we saw Citizen-X’s post on ‘Bring back the swag!!’ we thought, ‘Let’s ask SpiceHeads what they want! Let’s go right to the source and stop beating around the bush.'
Granted, this might not be the most revolutionary idea in the world but I am so glad we did this. For the 300+ people that voted...
Hey all,
Really excited to announce Barkly is coming back to SpiceWorld this year! The team really can't wait to be there and see everyone, and we've got some truly awesome things in store (plan on stopping by Booth #17 to say hi!).
But here's the thing: we need your help.
In addition to giving away some great swag and one of the best t-shirts in the history of Spicehead-kind, we also want to give one lucky person an even bigger GRAND prize.
The question is, what should that prize be? We're working around an outdoorsy theme, and we've narrowed it down to a handful of options. And that's where you come in!
Which one of the following should we give away at SpiceWorld? Which would you be most excited to win?
Thanks in advance for your input!
PS: If you want to meet up personally at SpiceWorld shoot me a PM!
Just a suggestion.
About 2-3 weeks before the conference. The Spiceworld forum in the community goes from ghost town to "chatty". My first year, I didn't know about the Spiceworld forum. The second year, it was the go to source for updates and info.
But, how many people in the community actually know there is a forum page for Spiceworld? Would it not be to your advantage, to say, pin a link/article up on the main community page for the next few weeks telling people to get on the Spiceworld discussion board?
Just a thought.

Hi there SpiceHeads, we can't wait to connect with all of you in just a few weeks at SpiceWorld 2018! We have a ton of stuff planned, all of which you can read about in detail on our latest post in the communityhere! But to give some highlights:
I am selling my ticket for Spiceworld this year. $99

We are looking for some feedback! Last year, the SpiceBuddies tried out a new feature with everyone, Google Location Tracking. A few SpiceBuddies turned location tracking on and on our site, there was a Google map that showed the locations of SpiceBuddies who had this on. We debating if we want to offer this again for this year, but curious if anyone found this useful last year. Or if you weren't there last year or don't remember, do you think this would be useful?
Hey folks!
My board game mixer will be during lunch Wednesday this year. (~11a-2p ish) I wanted to see what people were feeling for location - I'm looking at either commandeering some of the tables in the food area of the convention hall, or getting a large table at a restaurant nearby. If we do a restaurant, everyone would be responsible for their own food unless I'm able to find a sponsor.
(This is separate from my DnD meetup on Tues)
I need to take inventory of my box-o-games, but from the top of my head I'll have the below with me:
I wanted to make sure y'all knew about our planned early morning runs! I'll be there :-)
Date: Tuesday, October 9, and Wednesday, October 10
Time: 6:00 AM
Location: South end of Trinity Street, straight down from the Convention Center. There is a cul-de-sac at the end.

What is the best place in Austin to catch the game and is anyone else planning on getting together to watch the game?
Chris I know you are down to join me!
Are there any people who are Whovians? We are debating on some sort of get together or something and watching the new episode, since it airs on Sunday, right before the kickoff. Anyone interested?

Thank you!
You read it right, I have an extra ticket, purchased months ago and we're fast approaching SpiceWorld. Contact me directly if you're interested and the necessary arrangements can be made.
I won't be asking $499
I'm considering giving it away, but would want to have some sort of contest... maybe a 'tell me why you deserve it' style giveaway... What do you all think? Vote below. I will look at the votes by EoD tomorrow (the 17th) and decide!
P.S. If I don't give it away, it will still come in far below the current cost.

I've got a $99 ticket I'm not going to use. Just LMK if you're interested and we can make the necessary arrangements.
Hello all! I'm working on convincing my boss to cover me going to Spiceworld, and I think it would strengthen my argument if I knew I could network with some Amazon Alexa Skill pros at Spiceworld. We're getting ready to develop an Alexa skill for our annual convention, and he's been pushing for me to find training/resources.
So let's hear it- have you created an Alexa skill and are going to Spiceworld?
Was thinking of bringing Spice Rex a small snack to lure him over to our booth. What do you guys think he eats? Jerky? Bacon? Candy? Kids? 🤔
Or does anybody know of any discount codes to apply during checkout? I really don't want to spend $499 per person. Thanks!
Friendly reminder SpiceWorlders... if you haven't booked your hotel room for SpiceWorld yet, do it today!!
Our hotel room blocks are selling out fast, but we still have three hotels with availability. You can see your options here for booking.
Book your hotel room NOW>>>> Once the rooms are gone, they're gone!
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Oct. And we'll post the SpiceWorld 411 & FAQs the week before.

Hey everyone!
I'm getting around to finally nailing down details for my D&D night this year. I'm planning on scheduling it for Tuesday and doing either 9pm (so people can still catch the first 2 hours of the ACL party) or doing a lunchtime session around noon or early afternoon. If you're interested in joining us, please let me know your time preference in the poll below!
This year I'll be running 5e. If you're familiar with the game and would like to create your own character, please subscribe to this thread and I'll post when I've got the requirements nailed down. The characters will be level 4 or 5, and anything in the PHB will be allowed for sure.
If you're new to D&D, or have never played before, you're still welcome to join us! I'll have some pre-made character sheets available, and 5e is MUCH more newbie-friendly than v3.5 (what we...
Calling all Carbonite customers attending SpiceWorld! Would you like to receive a $100 amazon gift card? We are looking for a Carbonite customer to star in a testimonial video and talk about their experience with Carbonite. The video be filmed at SpiceWorld and will take no longer than one hour to film. If you would like to be in the video please write a few brief answers to these questions and send them to me by direct message:
Don’t want to do a video, but want to share your story? That’s fine – send us your details + we can do a written case study with you. Please respond by 9/28. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks!
HI Spiceheads,
I convinced our boss at Quadrotech to let us go to Spiceworld this year and was hoping to have a booth but they said not this year. I do think that we are sponsoring one of the events but not sure on details yet. So, at least we will be there and get to experience all the glory that is Spiceworld 2018. Amy and I will be there and don't want to miss out on anything if we can help it. So any suggestions for must haves for food, drinks, or anything else would be great.
I have been on the receiving end of awkward conversations with sales guys trying to "make and In". Since this will be our first Spiceworld we want to take it all in and just meet some of you guys and gals and not be annoying. I would love to hear feedback from you on some bad experiences you have had with "Sales guys" at events. Most of all we do not want to be...

Having visited Spiceworld in Austin 5 years now. With all the walking between the conference, 6th St, Rainey, the ACL. Everyone says to bring your comfy shoes. Or take a Pedi-cab. No matter what I have always come home with sore hoofs.
To make your days a little easier.I just wanted to throw this out for those attending.
Austin has a great Bicycle share program. For $18, you can get a 3 day pass. Looking at the map there are stations all over the downtown area. Many close to hotels where Spiceheads will be staying.

Wow, believe it or not, SpiceWorld 2018 is almost here! Where did the time go?! Anyways, as we generally do each year on the "Pre-Day" of the event, we'll be offering a tour of the Spiceworks Headquarters for anyone in town who'd like to drop by and see the office.
Since this is an 'unofficial' event, we can't offer assistance with transportation to or from our office, but typically SpiceHeads get together and share Ubers, Lyfts, taxis, carpool, etc. Feel free to coordinate in this topic!
This year's SpiceHQ tour will be held on Monday, October 8th at 1:30 PM, at our offices at 3700 North Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, TX. While we know there are a couple other things going on that day, we picked the latest possible time we could that would still guarantee you could get back in time for the Welcome Shindig & Sponsor Showcase at 5 PM...
Hello SpiceHeads!
The Webroot Team and I are REALLY looking forward to SpiceWorld 2018! We cannot wait to see old friends and meet new ones in only 4 weeks down in Austin! SpiceWorld is one of our absolute favorite events on the calendar and this year, we pulled out all the stops.
Everything you want to know about what we're doing at SpiceWorld 2018 can be found on our brand spanking new SpiceWorld 2018 tab.
Stop by Booth #15 to win prizes, meet other Webrooters, sign up to take Webroot for a spin, and more. We're bringing a lot of folks to Austin this year so we'll be ready and waiting to talk with as many as we can. Please do stop by our booth, we're really looking forward to seeing you.
While you're at the booth, be sure to try your luck with our Plinko board. You could win a Popsocket, Webroot glass cleaner, one of our famous...
I was really looking forward to attending my first Spiceworld but have to cancel. This time of year is busy for me but I thought maybe this year would be different? Nope.
If you're interested in the ticket, PM me and we can make arrangements.
Now that I've got your attention. I've got a $99 ticket for SW 2018. I won't be able to attend, because my job got scaled back.
At least, I made it to the last two SpiceWorlds.
If you're interested, please PM me.
Thanks.
I have not been able to go in years past but I will be able to this year if there is one.
Last minute schedule change so I cannot use my pretty ticket.
(EDIT:SOLD!)
Last year was my first and I was really looking forward to coming back. However, I will be going to ACE comic con in Chicago with the wife later that week. A colleague will go in my place, but he'll have to get a regular ticket (government, complicated).
Contact me. :)
(EDIT:SOLD!)
Has anyone heard if they will be using the mobile app again for Spiceworld this year. if so, any idea when it will be released?

Would anyone in the transportation or logistics industry want to meet up during SpiceWorld?
The short story of it all is that my boss has taken different job with another school district and because of this many of her responsibilities have fallen to me. The workload and the fact that I am now the sole person in charge of all things IT and somethings that don't fall under IT, SpiceWorld just isn't going to happen this year.
I bought a ticket in the early registration last year so if anyone needs/wants a ticket for $99 PM me and I'll get you the info.
Can't take off 3 days of work but still want to experience SpiceWorld? No sweat - we've got you covered with our One Day Pass - and it's FREE!
This One Day Pass* grants you access to SpiceWorld at the Austin Convention Center on Monday, October 8. Join us for the complimentary pre-event sessions (Note: the Pre-event Beginning PowerShell Workshop at 9am is an extra cost and requires pre-registration) then head to the Welcome Shindig and Sponsor Showcase from 5pm - 8pm to chat with dozens of vendors, meet other IT pros like you over a cold beverage, and grab some cool Spiceworks swag while you're there.
*One Day Pass valid for Monday, October 8 only. This One Day Expo Pass doesn't get ya access to any sessions, meals, the expo hall, happy hours, or parties on Tuesday or Wednesday of SpiceWorld.
Anyone heard from Darren?
His presentations have always been favorites.
Ok, folks - I'm not going to be able to go, primarily, because I'm still unemployed after 2 1/2 months and other things have a priority ::gasp:: I know, I know - what can be more important than SW18? Well, other than bacon ;) So, here's the deal, right after SW17 I bought a $99 pass and, of course, didn't realize the cut-off for refunds was 8/13 (doh!), so, if anyone would like to buy the pass from me for $99, PM me and we will work out the details - PayPal is all I can accept at this time. Once I get payment, I'll letDana M (Spiceworks)know so the registration can be transferred to you. And yes, I checked with her first before posting here :) Below is a portion of the confirmation (sans registration number) email I got last year. First come, first served. I'll post here when I find someone.
Thanks!
It’s already September, which means SpiceWorld 2018 is just around the corner. The team at WatchGuard has been prepping for the conference and we’re looking for your input!
We’re planning to raffle off a premium prize, valued at $400, each day of the event but we want to hear what all you SpiceHeads out there would want the prizes to be. Some examples of raffles we’ve done in the past included premium Lego sets, 3D printers and drones.
But we want to hear from you guys – So Spiceheads, if you could pick any prize to try and win in a raffle (that is valued at about $400 max) what would it be?
We are a measly 33 days away from SpiceWorld 2018 everyone! With us getting close, the SpiceBuddies are getting anxious to meet everyone! With that, the SpiceBuddies need your help!
We are looking for a few good Spiceheads to join the prestigious (and sort of glamorous) ranks of the SpiceBuddies!!!
Before we get into what it takes to be a SpiceBuddy, perhaps a refresher on what the SpiceBuddies program is all about!
SpiceBuddies is a program built by SpeadHeads for SpiceHeads. We are all volunteers that have been to a conference or two and want to help those who are attending for their first time. We all remember how our first time was a bit overwhelming. So many presentations, vendors and IT pros and events in just three short days, it's a lot to take in! We are here to be a point-of-contact before, during and even after SpiceWorld for...
As SpiceWorld is getting closer my thoughts have turned to swag :-)
My 2 favorite swag items are a SpiceCorps pub glass and a WebRoot growler!
What is your favorite and what are you hoping to see at SpiceWorld 2018?
