Here Come New Ideas for Not Attending Spicecorps

Alright… So the title may be a bit Bold….

We need your help to improve the SpiceCorps meetings by:

  • Attend the meetings - I realize we are all busy and finding time to attend another meeting can be difficult. I also understand that for many, the reason may be out of their control like the distance is too far, can't get off work in-time or personal reasons. But the truth is each person attends adds value to the group and the meeting as a whole.
  • Get involved and share your experience with the group - Each of us has something to share. It may be a project or task related to your job. Anything IT related is important and can be just the thing someone needs to hear.
  • Ask questions - these meetings are geared for open conversation. No question is a bad question.
  • Give Feedback - this is such a crucial part of having good meetings and yet is a rare to get feedback whether good or bad.

Why is it important to participate and not just attend?

  • Participation allows you to gather information
  • Adds value, interest and engagement within the group
  • Encourages dialogue and open conversation
  • Provides feedback to Vendors, Spiceleaders and members alike
  • Likes and dislikes about the meetings

What feedback have you given and who have you told? It's difficult to fix, change or make something better if no one informs the individuals responsible that there is an issue. We see this all the time with our "Users". They have a piece of software or hardware not working properly and instead of bringing it to our attention, they wait until it compounds into 5 other problems. At which time they drop it on our desk and say they need this fixed in 15 minutes. After some investigation we realize this issue originated 2 weeks early and would have been an easy fix but now requires much time and attention to correct.

Let's be proactive and work together
  • Reach out to your Spiceleaders - they are the ones who can and want to help
  • Reach out to Spiceworks - they can also get in touch with us and want to help
  • We won't be able to fix everything all the time. But we will do all within our power to help these meetings benefit everyone.

Note: You can always send a PM (Private Message) to any of the Spice-leaders

*saw this here thought it was good so pinched it, i was surprised though as it got only 3 spice ups an no comments
