AUSTIN, TEXAS — IT pros play many roles at work, sometimes comprising the entirety of theirdepartment. They spend their days wearing countless hats, assuming new professional identities on a near-daily basis as the work requires.
Frank Abagnale, too, has worn many hats — but unlike most attendees at SpiceWorld 2018 here, his early roles were far from authentic (or even legal).
As portrayed in the 2002 Steven Spielberg film Catch Me If You Can, Abagnale pursued a prolific career of cons, deception, and fraud that started before the age of 18 and ended with a string of prison sentences.
As a sequel, Abagnale put his criminal insights in the service of the FBI to help law enforcement take down the sort of cybercriminals IT pros guard against every day.
